Brandon Sandefur Maps His New Hometown on Country-Rock Single “Pensacola Rollin'”
PENSACOLA, FL, UNITED STATES, August 19, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ — After twenty-five years in Nashville, Brandon Sandefur has found a different kind of country-music town to sing about. These days, home is Pensacola, Florida, where the beach, neighborhood hangouts and the Three Mile Bridge have become part of his everyday life—and now part of “Pensacola Rollin’,” a song rooted in what Sandefur has come to regard as his own personal paradise. The Houston native and former All-Conference linebacker arrived there with plenty of road behind him. Sandefur got his start playing the Texas dance hall circuit with A Little Bit of Texas before moving to Nashville in 1996, where he was quickly signed. His debut album, Walking Backwards, produced two GAC Top 10 singles, while its title track became an international line-dance favorite with 80,000 downloads across the United States, Europe and Asia. He went on to become a Nashville regular, opening shows for Waylon Jennings, George Jones and Merle Haggard before eventually stepping away from the city that had shaped much of his musical life.
Sandefur has also been back in the studio recording new material toward a full EP. For now, “Pensacola Rollin’” reflects where he is today: a country-rock song drawn from the city, its landmarks, and the everyday life he has chosen to call his own.
“Pensacola Rollin’” co-produced by James Adkins and Brandon Sandefur comes directly out of what followed. The song reads almost like a map of Sandefur’s new hometown, working the beach ball, the Sandshaker, Hub Stacy’s, the Three Mile Bridge and the Blue Angels into its portrait of life along the Florida coast. Rather than treating the state as generic scenery, Sandefur draws on places and landmarks he knows firsthand, giving the song a distinctly local point of view. At its heart, the song is about the pleasure of liking where life has taken you. The beaches, bars, and familiar stops are more than a collection of references; together, they reflect how fully Sandefur has embraced his surroundings. After decades centered around Nashville and the music business, he is writing about what is directly in front of him now—and enjoying it.
The accompanying video carries that spirit onto the screen. Sandefur performs with his guitar on the beach, fully embracing the perfect Florida beach vibes as the sun shines, people enjoy the day, and the Blue Angels soar overhead. Footage filmed at the Sandshaker brings one of the song’s local touchstones into sight, keeping Pensacola life at the center of the visual. It’s an easy extension of the world Sandefur is writing about—sun, sand and a place he is clearly happy to call home.
