GESOLAR Cyprus Ltd, a renewable energy installer trading since 2011, has extended its formal photovoltaic installation coverage to a wider set of suburbs and towns across the Republic of Cyprus. The move brings the company’s principal service line to residents and businesses across Strovolos, Aglantzia, Engomi, Livadia, Oroklini, Germasogeia, Agios Athanasios, Paralimni, Ayia Napa, Deryneia, and Sotira, in addition to existing coverage of Nicosia, Larnaca, Limassol, and the Famagusta free area.

The expanded coverage takes effect immediately and applies to residential and commercial photovoltaic installations, from single-inverter rooftop arrays on family homes to systems designed for offices, hotels, and agricultural buildings. Site surveys, equipment specification, installation, and commissioning are handled by the same in-house team of engineers and technicians that has served the four main cities since the company was founded.

The added communities span three of the four operational tiers already covered by the company. Strovolos, Aglantzia, and Engomi sit within the Nicosia district close to the Latsia base. Livadia and Oroklini form part of the Larnaca coastal belt. Germasogeia and Agios Athanasios lie within Limassol district, while Paralimni, Ayia Napa, Deryneia, and Sotira sit within the government-controlled area of the Famagusta district.

The timing reflects a shift in the Cypriot residential solar market that took effect at the start of 2026, when net billing replaced the earlier net metering arrangement for new photovoltaic installations. Households now sell surplus generation to the grid at a wholesale rate rather than earning a retail credit on their electricity bill. The change shifts the economics of residential solar toward self-consumption and, in many cases, toward the addition of battery storage alongside a new array.

Under the expanded coverage, GESOLAR will run a scheduled cycle of site visits to each of the added communities, with response times matching those already offered to customers in central Nicosia and the other main cities. The company operates within a 100-kilometre service radius from its Latsia base, which reaches each of the added towns and suburbs.

“Photovoltaic installation is the principal service line at GESOLAR, and extending formal coverage to more communities across the Republic reflects the demand pattern observed through the first half of 2026,” said Eleni Stavrinidou, director of GESOLAR Cyprus Ltd. “The company has served customers in most of these areas on an occasional basis for several years. Setting out a defined schedule of site visits and applying the same certification and after-sales procedures already in place for the main cities is a step the business had planned to formalise once the shift to net billing had taken effect.”

GESOLAR holds certification to ISO 9001 for quality management, ISO 14001 for environmental practice, and ISO 45001 for occupational health and safety. All three certifications are subject to annual external audits. Documentation, site procedures, and waste management on every installation are reviewed by an independent body rather than assessed internally.

The company currently employs fifteen staff in total, including engineers, electricians, and specialised technicians. Photovoltaic installations across the added locations will follow the same workflow used in the main cities: an initial site visit, a written specification setting out panel count, inverter model, and cable routing, and a fixed-price quotation followed by installation and commissioning by directly employed technicians.

While photovoltaic systems remain the company’s principal offering, GESOLAR also fits energy storage batteries, electric vehicle chargers, heat pumps, underfloor heating, and electric radiators from the same Latsia workshop. That range allows customers to plan sequential upgrades through a single supplier, with cabling and control systems specified at the initial installation to accommodate later additions where relevant.

Cypriot household electricity prices have ranked among the higher tariffs in the European Union in recent years, according to Eurostat data. On-site solar generation continues to offset a share of household consumption even under the net billing arrangement that took effect on 1 January 2026. The typical service life of a photovoltaic installation, generally cited by panel manufacturers at around 25 years, sits alongside installer continuity as a factor households consider when planning a system.

The expanded coverage footprint also applies to commercial photovoltaic projects, including hotels, offices, and agricultural buildings across the newly formalised areas. Commercial site surveys under the expanded programme follow the same procedure as residential work, adapted for three-phase supplies, larger inverter banks, and roof structures typical of industrial and hospitality buildings.

The company designs, supplies, and installs photovoltaic systems, energy storage, EV chargers, heat pumps, underfloor heating, and electric radiators for residential and commercial customers across the Republic of Cyprus.
